Thanksgiving was fun as usual. We had the traditional unusual lunch that we usually have every year. Our family switches it up every year where we will have the traditional meal (turkey, ham, potato rolls, Mashed potatos, string brean, stuffing, gravy, etc. etc.) or we have the not so traditional meal (Tri-tip, Chessey Potato Casserol, Green Beans, Potato Rolls, Salad, Etc.) either Thanksgiving or Christmas. So this time around we had Tri-tip and all the fixings. And it was good, I feel bad for my wife, because My Mom can cook and thats all I'm going to say about it. Nothing is pre-made at our house. everything is made from scratch, even the pudding for the chocolate pie, no box pudding, all from scratch.
Well after all the family left from having a excellent lunch, my best friend from home and his family invited me over to his house for Thanksgiving Dinner. And another amazing meal was served. I had stuff that I have never had. Like, two kinds of Stuffing, one that was their traditional, with apples and such in it (very tasty) and another with oysters in it. When I thought of Oyster Stuffing, I was a little concerned, but it was AMAZING. They had turkey, Gravey (which was amazing), Baked Carrots, Sweet Potatos, beets, and such with really good seasoning. Cranberry sauce from scratch. What I forgot to say is that in college his dad was a cook at Disney land, and he is an amazing cook. And to end the night with a nice peace of Pumkin spice cake.
Overall, the thanksgiving weekend was very fun, I had some good fellowship, and good talks with friends that I haven't seen in awhile. So needless to say, I am kind of ready for Christmas break to be here.
Speaking of Christmas, I forgot to mention another one of my family traditions. So the day after Thanksgiving is usually a pretty busy day. No we don't go shopping like everyone else and their mother does. We take down all the harvest decorations and put up the Christmas decorations, can you tell our family likes christmas? We are always the first house lit up with christmas lights on our block and my best friend from home is usually the second house (they live a block away). This year was a little different. I put up all the outside decorations, while my parents went to Disneyland. I enjoyed my time putting up the light, I enjoy it, it gives me time to think about stuff.. Well I have been writing this for awhile, so I am going to stop. Peace
