So I still hate finals.. though I am very excited that I managed to pull a B in my business statistics class! I am very excited about that! But I am at school till saturday! and then back to Brawley.
So instead of posting a comment on Aarons Blog, I thought I would write about my familys christmas tradition.
When I was younger, my dad would take my bro and I out to the San Diego Mountain Range to play in the snow (I don't really ever remember my sister going with us, or where she was.. See thats what my parents get for having siblings 8 years apart! haha) while my mom spent the day finish wrapping the presents and get all the stuff ready fro christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Lunch.. Man my Mom was a busy women!
Another thing is out christmas tree! My bro and I would help my mom decorate the christmas tree when we were younger, usually we would just get out all the ornaments and take them out of there boxes and let my mom put them on the tree.. If anyone has been to our house, the christmas tree is a maserpiece in itself.. seriously, if you doubt me, ask steffanie jarrell, she knows about our christmas tree.. I don't think I know anyone else who has a christmas tree filled with just Hallmark Ornaments.. We also don't have just one tree, there is quiet a few scadered around the house and they are all beautiful! My mom just doesn't decorate our house either, she decorates the church too.. but that is her newer tradition she has been doing that since I was about 16. So on to the rest of the traditions..
We are not the traditional white family either.. On christmas eve, we get ready and go to the christmas eve service at church and after church, my sister and her family, my grandma and my parents and bro head back to the house and have Tamales and watch my nephew squirm around while he is waiting to open presents.. Yes, we open our present christmas eve... As long as I can remember, We have opened our christmas presents on christmas eve.. I know its a little weird, but it is a family tradition.. Oh, My parents told my brother and I that santa clause wasn't real when we were very very young, probably like 4 years old... They told us that they didn't want us the believe in santa because when they told my sister, she was hysterical, it affected her tremedous, well which doesn't say much becuase she is a drama queen! But anyways, after feeding our faces, we all sit down and hand out a gift to everyone.. and we go around and open our presents one at a time.. this is because my dad is a picture freak and he takes a picture of everyone with each gift.
We would open presents, clean up and head to bed, then in the morning (when we got up, which was usually around 10 for my bro and I) we would get up and open our stockings.. then clean our rooms and get ready for all the family to come over.. they would all show up around 12:30 and we would eat till about 4 or 5... man thats a lot of eating.. well thats my tradition, whats yours?
Oh after my family would leave, I would go to my other families house (the osterkamps) and help thm get ready for there christmas party! mmm lobster! mmm

Do you remember our Christmas's when Dad would have all these gifts under the tree for us and we would wake each other up and run down the stairs. And then dad would light them all on fire and tell us that Santa hated us. Ya those were some hard times, but at least you and I did our interpetive dancing and that best friend is something NO ONE can light on fire
